The message of Isaiah 51 is to the remaining exiles who are seeking the Lord. The Lord is calling them to listen to his word for comfort and courage in their current state of sorrow. The message landed well, so they prayed. Today, hear the word of the Lord. See yourself in the history of God’s people and the plan of God’s salvation. Let comfort and courage from the promises of God rule over fear in your heart. Listen, pray, and live.
Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. The Servant Who Sustains The Weary - Isaiah 50 - March 3, 2024
Monday Mar 04, 2024
Monday Mar 04, 2024
This chapter gives us another picture of the Servant of the Lord who is Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a life of listening to the Father and speaking his word to us. He submitted his life to the will of the Father, which led to his rejection and suffering. He was vindicated by the Father in the resurrection and is now exalted as Lord. Morning by morning we come to the Father with Jesus and his word sustains our weary souls. Let us listen to him.

God’s work through his Servant is to bring back his people to himself, and to bring his light to the nations. Through the Servant salvation will reach to the ends of the earth. This vision of God’s work in the world sustains us through hardship and keeps us seeking his kingdom in our lives. Knowing we are included in God’s plan by his grace gives us hope for the future. Human Pride vs. God’s Grace - Isaiah 47-48 - February 18, 2024
Sunday Feb 18, 2024
Sunday Feb 18, 2024
The contrast in these chapters is not between proud humans and humble humans. It is not between two kinds of humans at all. The contrast is between human pride and the grace of God. Pride leads to destruction. God’s grace leads to salvation. The call of God today is to reject the way of pride, receive his grace in Christ, and walk in the way of faith.

The Lord Carries His People - Isaiah 46 - February 11, 2024
Monday Feb 12, 2024
Monday Feb 12, 2024
This passage is another exposure of the foolishness and futility of idolatry, for idols become burdens to those who trust them. Again God is exalted as Sovereign, for he will accomplish all that he purposes. The people of God are repeatedly exhorted to trust him alone, for only he can carry them through the crisis they face. The Lord can and will save his people. Listen, remember, and trust him today.
