The gospel is good news, but it is only received by those who see their need. We all need the gospel because we all are sinners. If we deny our sinfulness, or downplay just how sinful we are, we will not be open to the saving grace of God in Christ. If we continue to focus on other people’s sin, instead of our own, we will remain close-minded to the truth about ourselves. The Spirit, through the Scriptures, leads us to see our sinfulness and acknowledge our need, leading to repentance and faith in Christ. The sinfulness of all people is a doctrine we dare not jump over to get to grace.  Where there is sin, there is even more grace.

Justin and Scott talk about the sermon from Sunday and how Jesus being our mediator helps us interact and view the world outside the church. This week we regather as a church and Scott discuses how we should approach this Sunday given our many feelings and emotions.

In this episode, Josh and Jason discuss some of the emotions that students and parents are experiencing during this season and how to process them together. They also give some suggestions about opportunities to create positive experiences together.

Today Scott talks to Justin about the relationship between missions and discipleship.

: The righteous who live by faith will produce good works. True faith that is centered on the good news of Jesus focuses on the glory of God and the good of others. Faith and works are inseparable and is natural for the one who has faith in Christ.

Many times at Grace, Scott has mentioned how the phrase “by grace through faith” can be written over the entire Bible. What does this mean? How can this phrase encourage us today?
