The world is full of evidences of the generosity of God. But no gift demonstrates God’s giving and gracious heart more than his own Son, Jesus Christ. If God gave his Son for us, we can be assured that he will give us all things needed to know, love, and follow Christ. All things necessary to be conformed to Christ’s image are ours. In Christ all things work together for our good, and in all things we are more than conquers through him who loved us.

God is praised through mission. On this first day in our new Worship Hall, we praise God for the glory of his grace in Christ Jesus. We commit ourselves anew to the mission of making Christ known to the nations. May Christ be worshiped and proclaimed in this place. May many be converted to Christ and established in the faith for generations to come. May the worship and mission of God join together and become our chief aim at Grace Community Church.

At the close of Romans 8, we hear five questions asked which are answered in the cross of Christ. What about our enemies, needs, accusations and the condemnation we face? Are we really loved by God? The death of Christ on our behalf provides the answers. No enemy will prevail, no need will be withheld, no accusation will stand, no sentence will be passed, and nothing will separate us from God’s love. Every day we look to Christ and listen to this message so we can live the life of faith, hope, and love.

“God is for us,” we have heard in a sermon or a song. But, wouldn’t it be good to know how? This passage takes us from the eternal mind of God, into our history, and onto the final state of glory to come, to show us how God has shed his grace on us. The chain that links together the saving works of God gives us the confidence to say, “This is how we know that God is for us.”

The Holy Spirit prays for us. He knows our weakness in prayer, but he will not let it hinder the purpose of God in our lives. So, he intercedes for us according to the will of God. Here is our confidence that the will of God will be accomplished in our lives, and here is our motivation to continue in prayer; the Holy Spirit prays for us.
